Great Days in Nice
| I am having a great time in Nice so far. The day I arrived, I walked around (got lost, of course), and found my way back to my hotel. I was exhausted from the train ride so I layed down for a while and slept until 7:30 pm! I went to hotel reception and asked if they could recommend a good restaurant closeby. I went to the restaurant and took a table when a little boy came up to me and handed me a note! It said "Venez manger avec nous" (Come eat with us). I look around and see his mother (and about 8 other people at a table) waving to me to join them for dinner! I went over and they cleared a place for me, I explained that I didn't speak french very well but his mother spoke english very well. We ate, drank wine and stayed until about 11:00 pm! I am amazed at the amount of interesting people I have met along the way. Yesterday, I took a scenic walk around Nice, even kicked the soccer ball around with some kids on a back street. I saved the walk at Castle Hill for sunset which overlooks Nice. Today I am off to Monaco! I will talk to you all soon!! |
